The years sure do fly (I can’t believe this is my 10th dot!), and here we are again–celebrating this year’s Dot Day! And another big “Wow!”–Peter Reynold‘s amazing book The Dot is now 20 years old! Yep! The book that sparked this wonderful year-round celebration of CREATIVITY, today being the “official” day! 😁😎🤩

Getting to celebrate with my now 6-year-old granddaughter, Charlotte, is a treasured experience for me. Our first was in 2021 , then last year, and now again, only this time her little 2-year-old sister, Nora, got to join us! She loves to color and do what her big sister does, so getting her to do a Dot was a no-brainer. I’m loving that both grandgirls evidently have that creative gene 🎨👧😄😎 .

So, “Drumroll, please!” Our 🔴🟡🔵🟢 from left to right:

I have to tell you, I LOVED that, once she started, Charlotte really got into it and instead of making just one Dot, she made 4! And Nora had a blast too. She insisted on using markers, not crayons and is famous for her swirling circles and sweeping lines. You can see her swirly, scribbly, scratchy, colorful handiwork in the next two. Mine are the bottom two, and I kept things simple and always will when I’m working alongside these two little budding artists.😀😄😁🥰🎨👍👏 It was fun just being decorative for fun without any real planning!

OK, now that I’ve celebrated with BOTH my granddaughters🥳🥰🥰🥰, I’m DOUBLY happy to present this year’s “official” dot for this year. It’s simple because time constraints don’t allow for more. THIS year Dot is making an appearance with his very special friend, Creativity! 😉
