As illustrators in the modern world, we have SO many options as to how we go about creating our art. We can choose traditional methods, using tools like pencils, brushes and paper, or we can create images digitally.
I happen to prefer creating my art traditionally, but am coming to appreciate the ways using programs like Photoshop can expedite and improve my pieces once scanned into the computer. Not yet trained in using the software, I’ve only touched the surface of all its possibilities and at some point down the line, plan to learn it much more extensively.
Regardless of the method, I know I am always eager to learn new and better techniques in using any medium or tool. Hopefully we will share some of that information here and gained through other sources I post in Links along with whatever you offer up. I’m looking forward to it all!

LOL, Sue, you’ve been asking me this for AGES! And I can tell you, for sure, that I can’t teach them ’cause I don’t have them : / I know very basic stuff with PSE and don’t have any other programs, BUT…what I WILL include here are things I do know about. For stuff like Photoshop, I was thrilled to recently find out about one great blog that has all the info you probably need. I know I’LL be going to it a LOT. Went there. She has a video of her making a DOT for DOT day. I have not had time this year to make a Dot. I wanted to arrange books standing up in a circle and then video them falling down like dominoes. Then I thought I could use dominoes, but cannot find my dominoes. I am in bad shape for DOT day this year. And was so looking forward to it. 😦

Sue, that’s a fantastic idea for a dot! And the thing is, you can put it up at any time. It doesn’t have to be on Dot Day. In fact, so I can put up Terry Shay’s Q&A tomorrow, ON Dot Day, I’m pushing posting my little dot (my first one 🙂 ) to Tuesday. I really think you should do that dot! I’d LOVE to see it 😀

I did a bunch of books laying down like a dot – a big circle – last year. Talk about not knowing who’s book to include.

Nope, actually NO competition, my dear 🙂 I want to see EVERYone making GREAT dots! 🙂 Mine isn’t creative this year ’cause I didn’t have time, plus had something that I was able to make work. Next year I hope to be more creative and colorful 🙂 You’ll see it when I post it…
